Yesterday, Vice President Mike Pence visited the 9/11 Memorial while honoring the victims in the fateful crash of flight 93 which killed everyone on board. As the story goes, after the plane was hijacked, the passengers started making calls to loved ones. They started hearing about what was going on with all of the hijackings. That is when they decided to take action and bring down the plane before the crashed it into the United States capitol building. And as it turns out, Mike Pence was in the building that day. These people saved his life.
But that was not the only time an attempt was made on his life. Nobody is talking about the fact that someone tried to assassinate him during his time at the 9/11 Memorial. Secret Service found out that William Robert Dunbar was planning to hurt the Vice President of the United States.
The 22-year-old National Guardsman from New Jersey, was charged on duty for telling people, “If someone pays me enough money, I will kill the vice president.” He was ready to take action, but wanted some money in return. Luckily for Pence and his supporters, he was reported and taken into custody.
He is now being held on a $250,000 bond. We are lucky enough to have a Secret Service team that takes their job and all of the threats that come in on a daily basis very seriously. This means that they will be able to catch the criminals that do so much harm to our leaders.
Obviously, there a several threats against the president and vice president’s life each and every day. Only some of them are taken seriously. But this one seemed real enough for them to take action. And it is a good thing. If they would not have found this threat against Vice President Mike Pence, who knows what could have happened.
Even celebrities have been taking turns making threats against out leaders’ lives. They are able to use their power and influence to get away with it. But that does not mean that people do not take notice.
This was extremely scary for Mike Pence and company.
